DERMAL FILLERS

As we age, it is normal to lose some of the subcutaneous tissue beneath the skin which once gave it a youthful appearance. As this tissue is lost, the skin may develop wrinkles and lines, and the volume of the face will appear less full as the muscles move closer to the skin. Dermal fillers are injectables that use a special material that is placed in areas of deep creases such as the nasolabial folds, cheeks and around the lips. Botox®/Dysport® is generally used for the top half of the face while dermal fillers work best in the lower half.
